The New Egypt First Aid Squad Inc. (NEFAS) is an all volunteer, non-profit organization that provides regionalized basic emergency medical, vehicle extrication and mass casualty management services, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The area served by NEFAS includes all of Plumsted Township in Ocean County, portions of Upper Freehold Township in Monmouth County, all of New Hanover Township and portions of North Hanover Township both in Burlington County.

      New Egypt First Aid Squad has been serving New Egypt and surrounding communities since 1938. In its early days, it became a commonly accepted, often used, and appreciated part of the daily life of the community. Since the time of its inception, it has progressed and expanded. By the anticipated future devotion and efforts of its members, it shall continue to merit the approval of the citizenry. Throughout its years of service, certain principles of operation have been found to enhance the success of the squad, and therefore should continue to be observed.
